The North Pennines, sometimes described as
"the roof of England",
sometimes as "England's last wilderness",
has a long, long history of people and their settlements.

Last year, the North Pennines Storytelling Festival explores the theme of "Hidden Stories: living with the past"

The Festival, now in its 16th year, has attracted well over 10,000 people since it first started.

However, because of an unexpected shortfall in our funding, we have had to curtail this year's programme to a single event in each district. We are still pleased to feature Tyneside storytellers A Bit Crack (Chris Bostock, Pat Renton, Malcolm Green and Pascale Konyn), but with no guest storytellers or musicians.

IMPORTANTLY , WE EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT A FULL PROGRAMME AGAIN IN 2008!
